Experienced Automotive Mechanic – Switch to Medium Duty
Full job description
About Zuma
Zuma Lift Service is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced automotive mechanic (5+ years) ready for a rewarding career change. If you’ve mastered cars and trucks, now’s your chance to step into medium-duty aerial equipment — boom lifts, scissor lifts, and telehandlers — with more room to work, better pay, and a cleaner, more specialized trade.
Why Make the Switch?
If you’ve spent years in automotive, you know the grind:
● Flat-rate pay pressure that punishes you for tough jobs
● Cramped engine bays where every bolt means bashed knuckles
● Straining your neck under cars on hoists
● Grease pits and messy work day after day
At Zuma, it’s different:
● Hourly pay: $40–$45/hr = $83k–$93.5k/year (no flat rate)
● Easy access: Engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems designed for service
● Cleaner work: No grease pits, no crawling under cars all day
● Better hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm — home every afternoon
● Full benefits: Health, dental, vision, paid time off, and more
● Training & Growth: Full manufacturer training plus on-site mentoring from senior techs
● Local career: Work in Chilliwack, no long commutes into Surrey or Vancouver
What You’ll Work On
● Engine diagnostics & repair: injectors, starters, alternators, fuel systems
● Hydraulic systems: cylinders, seals, coils, valves
● Electrical: joysticks, sensors, circuit boards (support provided)
● Preventive maintenance and inspections
What You Bring
● 5+ years as a senior auto tech or mechanic
● Strong gas & diesel troubleshooting skills
● Strong in electrical diagnostics
● Familiarity with hydraulics (or willingness to learn)
● Computer and diagnostic software skills
● A solid tool set and problem-solving mindset
No more flat rates. No more cramped bays. No more grease pits.
At Zuma, you’ll get the pay, training, and lifestyle that make mechanics want to stay in the trade.
Apply today or stop by our shop in Chilliwack to see how this could be a better career for you.

- Able to lift up to 50 lb and use pallet jacks. Basic computer skills.
- NEXUS, forklift certificate (or willing to obtain within 30 days).
