Heavy Duty Mechanic need for a Medium Duty Position!
Full job description
Zuma is a locally owned and operated dealership with over 20 years serving the Fraser Valley and beyond. We specialize in boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, and forklifts from leading brands like Genie, JLG, Skyjack, and Haulotte. Our service department is known for its quality work, tight-knit team, and steady pace—no camps, no rotating shifts, and no drama.
We’re growing and need another experienced technician to help us keep machines running safely and reliably. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing the job right, has a solid background in diagnostics and repair, and wants to work with a company that respects their craft.
You’ll service and repair aerial equipment and telehandlers—everything from compact electric scissors to full-size rough-terrain booms and telehandlers. Our fleet includes machines with gas, diesel, and electric drivetrains.
Your focus will be on:
- Hydraulic systems: valves, pumps, cylinders, wear pads, and boom componentsElectrical systems: 12/24V, CAN-bus circuits, sensors, joysticks, motors, and harness repairs
- Engines: troubleshooting and repairing Tier-4 diesel and LPG systems, injectors, starters, alternators, and more
- Preventive maintenance: inspections, safety certifications, and performance checks
- Diagnostics: using factory tools (laptops and software) along with traditional testing methods
- Occasional field service: mostly shop-based, but some local mobile calls with a company truck when needed
You don’t need to come from the aerial industry—but you do need to be confident in your ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems based on your experience. We can train you on the specifics.
The right candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty, diesel, off-road, or industrial mechanic
- A strong grasp of hydraulic systems (pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves)
- Solid electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with sensors and DC circuits
- Familiarity with gas and diesel engine repair (especially Tier-4 systems is a plus)
- A basic working knowledge of computers (for parts lookup, work orders, and diagnostics)
- A reliable personal tool set (we supply all specialty and diagnostic equipment)
- A clean Class 5 driver's license
- A safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently
Red Seal certification is an asset but not a requirement if your experience speaks for itself.
